Jibreel A. Rashad is the founder of I Am Student Athlete, a transformative organization born from a vision to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity.

He attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he was a standout cornerback for the UTEP Miners while majoring in criminal justice. In 1990, he earned a tryout with the NFL’s New York Giants.

With a deep–rooted passion for mentorship, Jibreel created IASA to serve as a catalyst for student athletes and justice–involved youth, helping them navigate the complexities of the “Game of Life.”

Recognizing that success requires more than just physical talent or academic effort, Jibreel designed a curriculum focused on high–impact educational and human development training. Under his leadership, I Am Student Athlete cultivates the character, confidence, and essential skill sets youth need to build successful, sustainable pathways.

For the past 20 years, Jibreel has not only been a successful businessman but has also dedicated himself to mentoring youth in Dallas through various athletic programs.
